Highlands State School opened on 7 February 1921 It was renamed Highvale State School in 1943 It closed on 29 January 1968 The school was at 876 Mount Glorious Road (27°22′43″S 152°48′28″E / 27 8078 (Highvale State School (former))) In 2015, the Samford Area Mens Shed opened at the entrance to the show grounds.
